Since 2010
The Improv Club came here with Ms. Crabtree from her previous job at Mexico High School in Mexico, Missouri. She and a couple of students, Austin Tanner and Josh Hughes, were talking one day during 2009-2010 school year about what they could do to make the next school year more fun. Ms. Crabtree mentioned the Improv show at her former school, thus the Improv Club Sketch Comedy Show was born! The three made plans and recruited students, and the first annual show was held in April of 2011.
Initially, we hung numbers on a clothesline and the audience chose the order of the show, so it was a different show every night! We have since stopped doing that, but we have added digital shorts and commercials to the mix. Improv has definitely evolved and always includes original skits that are written and performed by students.
