You are probably already aware that an apprenticeship is practical training in a job with study. It is for those aged 16 or over and not in full time education. An apprentice is employed by an organisation and earns a wage during the apprenticeship. Your learning takes place in the workplace, sometimes also at a training provider/local college/university, and you’ll earn a salary while you work towards nationally recognised qualifications.
How do I find apprenticeship vacancies?
The most effective method is to search online.
Look on an individual company’s website.
Search ‘apprenticeships’ on the job sites like Indeed, Reed, Monster and Totaljobs.
Use one of the centralised websites where apprenticeships for a wide range of companies are shown in one place.
You can search by level, type and location. (see below)
These two sites focus on large organisations with annual recruitment programmes.
Click on Amazing Employers.
Click on a company you are interested in to ‘Read More’.
You can also download the Higher & Degree Apprenticeship Vacancy Listing to find out what time of year applications open and close.
Click on Find Jobs.
Put in your postcode/location and a distance to search.
Click on Job Types/Industry if you want to search more specifically.
This website has ‘live’ (current) vacancies so you need to keep a watch on it, especially in the two or three months before you leave college so that you are
aware of what is coming up. Some of the large, global companies also advertise here.
Click SEARCH/or BROWSE by type.
Put in postcode/distance you can travel.
Type in Keyword or keep an open mind and see what is available.
The College website lists all the vacancies for which we are the learning provider. Click here for a list.
