All clubs and organizations operate through our Student Government Association which will serve as the umbrella for each organization. Student Government Associations all over the country take on the task of ensuring that clubs and organizations within a school are operating in ways that serve not only the school community but also the community at large. As a result, SGA will be in charge of keeping track of the fulfillment of requirements that each club or organization at WPS must uphold in order to remain functional.
This process has been developed to ensure that each club or organization is active throughout the school year. Clubs enable students to get involved on campus, so it is important that your club or organization not be dormant for most of the year.
The main components that each club or organization must adhere to are as follows:
Written mission statement
Club or organization objectives
Bylaws (especially important if there are officer positions) – what is required of your members?
Impact of the club or organization on WPS community and community at large
Activities that the club or organization will hold (at least 1 per quarter)
Activities that the club or organization will attend (at least 2 per quarter)
