Sophomore Year: Keep Going---Keep Growing
Things to think about:
In which subjects did I excel?
Am I taking courses that lead to my post high school plans?
Am I giving my best to sophomore courses?
Of my unique talents and strengths, which would I most like to develop?
Am I involved in at least one extra-curricular activity or community service?
What potential career/post high school option have I considered?
Am I familiar with the College Career Resource Center at WHS?
Things to do
Update resume via a google doc or through Naviance Student (give directions on how to access)
Carry a strong academic program.
Seek assistance from teachers and counselors when needed.
Take the PSAT for practice.
Maintain strong academic performance and maintain an excellent attendance record.
Be aware of your graduation requirements.
Visit “Naviance Student” to explore post high school plans and interests.
People to talk to:
Your parents, Your teachers, Your school counselors. People who are involved in the professions of your interest.

If you have forgotten your password follow these steps:
Go on to the Naviance Student login Page (Bookmark the link above in your internet browser)
Enter your email address and click on “Forgot Password”
A temporary password will be sent to your school email to allow you to reset your password
#1- Build Your Resume in Naviance
Step 1 - On the bottom right hand of the screen click the “Show Me How” icon
Step 2 - Click “About Me- New Resume Content!”
Step 3 - Click “Guided Tour: Create Resume Sections” and follow steps
Step 4- Click “Guided Tour: Build and Export Resumes”
**Please note there is no “submit” button. This allows students to edit their resume at a later time.
**If you have already done a resume in your English class, please share that with your School Counselor via email.
#2: Complete the “Strengths Explorer” Inventory in Naviance
Step 1- Click the “About Me” tab
Step 2-Click “My Assessments”
Step 3- Click “Strengths Explorer”
#3: Update your ECP from FLIGHT class
Step 1 - Student unofficial transcripts can be accessed through PowerSchool’s Parent Portal, under "student reports"
(Click here for instructions) Please refer to your transcript to review credits you have earned and the courses you have taken to date.
Step 2 - Update your sophomore year courses with the credit(s) you earned during semester 1 this year.
Step 3 - Update your junior year courses with the courses that you selected during course registration and verification with your school counselor.
#4 - COMPLETE "AchieveWorks Personality" Assessment in Naviance
This survey helps you identify your personality type by asking you to choose scenarios that best represent how you behave in real life. The assessment takes approximately 15 minutes to complete. In the results, it will include your personality type and provide tips to achieve success in a way that works for you, as well as best-fit career options.
Step 1 - Log into Naviance Student
Step 2 - Click "Self-Discovery" at the top of the home page
Step 3 - Click "Personality"
Step 4 - Click "Continue".
Step 5 - Review your results and explore!
#5 COMPLETE “Career Cluster Finder” Assessment in Naviance The Career Cluster Finder helps you to indicate activities and school subjects that you like or dislike and personal qualities you possess. The assessment takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. In the results, you will learn how well each of the 16 National Career Clusters fits your current interests and qualities.
