Why are all students receiving meals at no cost?
All students are eligible for meals at no cost under a waiver from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to operate the Seamless Summer Option during the 2021-2022 School Year.
Do I still need to complete a meal application form?
Applications for Free and Reduced meals this year are not required, however, completing these forms could provide eligibility for your students to receive P-EBT benefits. Other benefits include waivers for Drivers Ed fees, standardized testing fees, eye glasses fees, etc. Click here to apply https://family.titank12.com
Will “extra” items be offered for purchase in the cafeteria?
Absolutely! A variety of snack and beverage choices will be offered for purchase as well as any extra servings of any part of the day’s meal. These could include ice cream, chips, fresh baked cookies, etc. All of the snack offerings are approved through USDA Smart Snack guidelines.
How can I prepay for extra item purchases for my student?
You can put money on your student’s account in several ways. We continue to accept checks or cash in the cafeteria (checks must include student’s name and lunch number). You can also easily utilize the Titan Family Portal, located on the School Nutrition website to place money on your student’s account, check the balance, and see a transaction history. This can also be accessed through the Titan Family Connect App on a Smartphone. In order to create an account you will need your student’s Student ID number which can be obtained from the school’s office.
ADD TO STUDENTS ACCOUNT:
Online payments can be made to a student's account. It usually takes 24 hours for an online payment to post on a student's account. Checks must be payable to Speight Middle School Cafeteria.
LUNCH TIME/CAFETERIA PROCEDURES:
Students who bring payment to add to their account should deliver it to the cafeteria upon arrival at the school.
All efforts should be made to keep the noise in the cafeteria at a reasonable level and to maintain cleanliness.
Close adherence to the lunch schedule is imperative.
Teachers will designate one student to clean tables and one to sweep each day, prior to leaving the classroom for lunch.
