The SEN team at Wilmington Academy is led by our SENCo Ruth Jones. Together, with her team, there is a vast experience of working with students that will need additional support during periods of transition.
the Post 16 Inclusion Lead is Ms Charlotte Melbourne. Ms Melbourne is studying for the NPQ SENCO qualification. She will work with any student who is identified as needing additional support. She will work with the student and the parents if possible to devise a plan for support. She will also work with them on Preparation for Adulthood and moving on into employment, higher education or further training and accessing any support that will help with developing independence for living, belonging to a community and managing health and wellbeing. Think Ninja offers self-help knowledge and skills to young people (10-18 years old) who may be experiencing increased anxiety and stress.
