Art & Design

Equivalent in size to one A Level. 4 units, of which 3 are mandatory and 2 are externally assessed.                        

Mandatory content is equal to 83%, and external assessment is equal to 58%.                                                                            

There are three mandatory units: 

• Unit 1: Visual Recording and Communication

• Unit 2: Critical and Contextual Studies in Art and Design 

• Unit 3: The Creative Process 

Learners also develop skills and knowledge through an optional unit in a specific area such as graphics, photography, 3D studies, textiles, or fine art.
