My journey at Romona Elementary originally began when my family moved to Wilmette as I was entering 2nd grade. I continued as a District 39 student until I attended and graduated from New Trier in 2008. Now, I am entering my tenth year as a 4th grade teacher and I am sure it is going to be another amazing year!
In December 2013, I graduated Cum Laude from Indiana State University with my B.S. in Elementary Education and Language Studies (concentration in French). After graduating, I became a long term substitute in a 3rd grade classroom. Following this, I moved to France where I taught English to students within the French public elementary schools. In 2020, I completed my graduate degree in Literacy Education at Northeastern Illinois University. I believe that the best learning takes place in a supportive, but flexible, environment with plenty of engaging and authentic learning experiences that can immerse our young learners!
In my free time, I enjoy traveling and exploring new cities, photography, speaking French, baking, and I am trying to teach myself how to cook. I have two younger brothers and ten cousins. I am an absolute animal lover and have two cats, Sylvie and Silas. I truly love teaching and have a huge passion for being creative in my classroom, and helping my students develop a lifelong love of learning!
