Whether you have been in our classroom already or are wanting a sneak peek, we hope the information below will be helpful to you as you enter 4th grade.
We will learn new skills and use them!
We will form new connections and strengthen previous ones!
We will make new friends and grow as a family!
We will push ourselves and help others!
We will be role-models to our peers!
We will practice and develop a growth mindset!
We will always give our best effort!
In this classroom we like to collaborate and work with each other very regularly! We each can learn so much from one another and we know we will find many similarities with each other. However, one of the best things about us is that we are all so very different! We bring different experiences, ideas, and strengths to the classroom, which is something to be appreciated and celebrated. You will be have many chances to work with classmates throughout the year in a variety of ways. Through each grouping, you will develop your skills to help you work in teams, cooperate and compromise, delegate tasks, and become strong and respectful leaders. Below you will find some of the ways we will group up this year!
Partners
Almost every day there will be a chance to work with a partner. Sometimes, you will get to choose partners, sometimes we do-- other times we will spin a wheel or ask Alexa to determine partners!
Table Teams
Your desks will be set up in small groups. You get to choose your first group on the first day of school! Later, these teams will rotate. It is up to you to work together cooperatively throughout each day.
Group Projects
We will complete a lot of small group projects throughout the year! Sometimes you will have a choice and sometimes I might choose. You will work together to complete the tasks!
Book Clubs
This year you will have the chance to experience many books. Sometimes you will be in small groups reading the same books together. You will discuss and interact together!
We are very lucky to have so many helpful and wonderful resources to use in our classroom. These include items that we will use daily, like pencils and paper, as well as other items that will be here year after year, like books and flexible seating. For this reason, it is important that we treat every item in our classroom with respect and care. We will take time each day to clean up our room and return items to where we found them originally. Ultimately, this is your classroom and it is up to you to take care of it!
