Library Policies
Check-Out:
Kindergarten - 1 book every week (check-out will begin in September)
1st Grade - 2 books every week
2nd Grade - 2 books every week
3rd Grade - 3 books every two weeks
4th Grade - 3 books every two weeks
Students visit the Learning Commons for library class every week for 30 minutes. In addition to checking out books, this time is used for instruction of library and research skills as well as studying authors and illustrators. Throughout library lessons the 4Cs (collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking skills) are incorporated.
If students are working on a project or assigned a book report, they are welcome to check-out an additional book
Students are welcome to visit the library any time with permission from their teacher.
When books are overdue, email and/or paper notices are sent home to parents.
Lost library books are $20 for a hardcover and $10 for a paperback to replace. If lost library books are found after a replacement cost has been paid, a refund will be issued to your lunch account (this applies only to lost books found within the same school year).
