Meet the Library Staff
This is my eighth year at Romona and my twelfth year teaching. After receiving a B.A. in Elementary Education from Saint Louis University, I taught first/second grade in a multiage class and middle school reading and language arts for several years in St. Louis, MO and Champaign, IL. I have a M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction and a M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois. In addition, I have a reading endorsement.
I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, traveling, photography, and decorating cakes. I grew up in Cincinnati and lived in St. Louis and Champaign before settling down in Chicago. I have been married for fourteen years and have two daughters, Ellyse (11) and Caraline (9).
I have been married to my husband, David for 29 years. David and I have raised 3 amazing young men. As a mom I couldn’t be prouder. In my spare time I like to listen to audio books and read, which is one reason I love working in the library. I can’t choose a favorite book, there are just too many. I like to garden, go to movies and spending time with family and friends.
I’ve been at Romona since 2001. Before that I worked at Misercordia Home for 15 years. I have always found it to be very rewarding working with children and children with special needs. This is my third year working in LMC.
