Post date: Oct 12, 2016 4:05:22 PM

During library class this year, students explored Romona Library eBook, eAudio, and interactive books through MackinVia, BookFlix, Capstone, and TumbleBooks! Please check them out at home! Passwords to the eBook resources are available in the Library Media Center. Please email Mrs. Wiechert at wiechera@wilmette39.org if you have any questions about the eBook resources.

MackinVia

The MackinVia collection, started through a District 39 Foundation Gripp Grant, allows students to read and check out eBooks, interactive eBooks, and eAudio books (digital audiobooks) year-round from school or home. Students can check out the books and read online or through the free Mackin Via app (available for iPads/iPod, Android Tablets, Kindle, and Nook). Students can also download books to a device for offline reading.

BookFlix

BookFlix is an online literacy resource that pairs fiction video stories with non-fiction eBooks to help students build a love of reading. (Proudly sponsored by the Romona Elementary School PTA!)

Capstone:

A collection of more than 100 interactive eBooks published by Capstone. The Capstone eBooks allow students to either listen to a story or read at their own pace. The free Capstone Interactive app can be found on iTunes and allows students to download eBooks to the device for offline reading.

TumbleBooks

New to Romona this year, TumbleBooks is a collection of animated, talking picture books, read alongs, and eBooks that help teach children the joys of reading. A HUGE thank you to the Wilmette Public Library for providing District 39 access to Tumble Premium!

Students can also access eBooks through the Romona Library’s Alexandria Online Catalog.

Please let me know if you have any questions about the Romona Library resources. Happy Reading!
