Violin

The violin is the most popular instrument in the orchestra. Groups of violins play different parts of the music, much like singing a duet or trio. Most of the time violins play the melody of a song. Like all string instruments, violins come in different sizes to fit you just right. It’s sound is produced by plucking the strings (pizzicato) or by bowing the strings (arco). The violin reads the treble clef.
