String Bass

The bass is the largest and lowest sounding of the string instruments. It must be played standing due to it’s size. Like all string instruments, basses come in different sizes to fit you just right. It’s sound is produced by plucking the strings (pizzicato) or by bowing the strings (arco). The bass reads the bass clef. The bass is a school-owned instrument, for this reason it is a limited enrollment instrument.
