Percussion

Percussion instruments produce sound when struck by a mallet, stick, or the performer’s hand. Highcrest percussion classes begin with the snare drum and bass drum. As the class progresses, mallet instruments (bells and xylophone) are added, followed by auxiliary instruments such as cymbals, triangle, and tambourine. Percussionist use school-owned instruments during rehearsals and concerts; for this reason, enrollment on percussion is limited.
