Being someone who holds space for others right now can feel heavier than it used to. The collective grief, climate anxiety, political tension, and steady undercurrent of uncertainty are not separate from our work. We sit with others as they navigate these realities while also living inside them ourselves. Individual self-care helps, but it is not enough when what we are carrying is collective. We were never meant to metabolize this alone or in isolation. This work belongs in relationship and in connection with the more than human world. When we gather outdoors, something shifts. Perspective widens. Our nervous systems soften. We remember that we are part of something larger, and that remembering restores resilience in a way that going it alone simply cannot.
This group may be a fit if you:
Are a therapist, healer, helper, caregiver or educator feeling stretched, numb, or disoriented
Want experiential, embodied work (not just discussion)
Want to step away from your screens and be out in nature with others
Value slowness and reflection over productivity
Are curious about incorporating nature into your work
This group may not be a fit if you:
Need a highly structured, skills-based curriculum
Prefer large groups or drop-in formats
Aren't comfortable being outdoors
What Can I Expect?
This is a 6-week, all-outdoors, experiential group for helpers, healers, therapists, caregivers, and others who hold space for people in pain. Rooted in Joanna Macy’s Work That Reconnects, each gathering offers a steady rhythm of guided nature-based practice, reflection, and community support, so you can reconnect with what sustains you while living and working in a changing world.
Each week you can expect:
Arrival + grounding (gentle somatic settling and orienting to place)
Guided time on the land (solo and supported practices, sensory attention, “sit spot,” mindful wandering)
Structured group reflection (council-style sharing, paired inquiry, and spacious listening)
Ritual and meaning-making (simple, accessible practices for gratitude, grief, and integration, always invitational)
Practical integration for helpers (brief, grounded takeaways for resourcing, boundaries, and carrying this work into daily life and care work without turning the group into a training)
