Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
It has been fantastic to get to know the new Year 1 classes over the first 3 days of the Autumn Term! They bounced into school on Wednesday, full of tales of the holidays and excited for the learning journey ahead. The new Lego room was a hot topic and both classes had the chance to check it out, ahead of starting to make proper use of it next week.
Our Maths lessons gave us the opportunity to refresh our memory of numbers, with sequencing and counting activities. In English, we wrote about our Summer holidays and thought of adjectives to describe ourselves, to help our teachers get to know us better. We had such fun in Science, kicking off our topic on the body by drawing round one of our classmates and labelling body parts on the outline. We also practised logging into the Chromebooks and explored the Purple Mash and Spelling Shed websites. A very busy 3 days!
We are looking forward to meeting you properly on Monday at the Information Evening, welcoming you to the Year 1 classrooms and answering your questions then.
Have a wonderful weekend!
