We are volunteer ski and snowboard patrollers at Jiminy Peak (~20 min drive from campus) providing first aid to those in need by working in tandem with pro patrollers. New members will take the Outdoor Emergency Care first aid course (a Fall PE) then a ski/board winter study course ending in a test to become certified by the National Ski Patrol.
The club provides first aid equipment, tuning, jacket, and textbook for the ski season. Volunteer patrollers ski for free at Jiminy when on duty.
As the largest club on campus, the Williams Outing Club's (WOC) primary goals are to introduce students to outdoor activities and connect people who enjoy spending time outside. We sponsor programming for all members of the Williams community, regardless of comfort level with outdoor activities; we encourage you to check us out whether you've never been on a trail before or have spent lots of time outdoors!
Friendly Visitors is a group of students who dedicate their Sunday afternoons every week to visiting the Williamstown Commons senior center. At the center, students develop meaningful, personal relationships with residents, as well as engage in activities, such as crafts, with a group of residents. Friendly Visitors is dedicated to giving students an opportunity to go out into the community and get to know local residents.
Lehman serves to promote, foster, and maintain a spirit of service on campus by organizing and supporting many different community-oriented service projects. Our biggest projects are our Fall and Spring Great Days of Service which engage the wider campus in many projects. We also host other smaller ongoing and pop-up projects including Winter Study Service Week, meal and clothing donations drives, and volunteering at local schools, elderly homes, homeless shelters, hospitals and farms.
Converging Worlds is “devoted to inspiring a diversity of thought within the Williams College community” by cultivating positive correspondence between Williams students and some of the most marginalized members of our society— people who the carceral state has erased. CW initiatives include creative projects on campus and concrete programming in the community. CW continues to encourage critical thought and action aimed at establishing viable alternatives to our current carceral state.
Parlor Tricks is a student magazine dedicated to publishing the best creative work at Williams College. We welcome submissions of all types, including, but not limited to: fiction, nonfiction, poetry, art of all kinds, music, personal essays, interviews, recipes, and multi-media projects. We publish twice a year, with our largest publication printed each spring, and host events throughout the year, including readings, musical performances, and workshops.
College Dems aims to mobilize students to participate in the political process, outside of voting. This will take the form of writing policy briefs to help local voters understand candidates’ platforms, hosting/participating talks with candidates, attending local Democratic Conventions, phone banking, canvassing, Get Out the Vote efforts, campaigning in New Hampshire, helping in areas that face voter suppression, etc. We are always hosting events and hope you will join some of them!
BDP (Berkshire Doula Project) is a student organization that focuses on reproductive wellness. We host events like Menstruation and Masturbation Celebration, as well as 2 IUD/ abortion doula trainings. Once you have completed our training, you can go to local health clinics and be an IUD/ abortion doula for live patients.
Williams Anime club is an organization for students with an interest in watching, discussing and admiring the art form of Japanese Anime. As part of our annual tradition, we attend the Anime Boston convention in Spring.
Student volunteers are paired up with an elementary school buddy at either Greylock Elementary or Brayton Elementary in North Adams. Once a week, students go to the elementary school to meet with their buddy for 1 hour and provide guidance and support for their buddy. This is a super low commitment and the kids really love having a constant adult that is looking out for them!
Our mission is to empower high-achieving, low-income high school students to make the leap to their best-fit colleges and universities. We train talented Williams College students to connect remotely with high-achieving, low-income high school students, providing the information, guidance, and support that these high school students need to navigate the college process.
We are all about fixing/building/learning about bikes! We have a fleet of about 50 bikes that we rent to students and we run open hours twice a week. During open hours we do walk-in bike fixing and teach people how to work on bikes. No experience required to join, just interest. We are looking to hire more mechanics for the 2021-22 year!
WSO (Williams Students Online) is a student organization devoted to creating innovative and useful computer-based services and offering them to the Williams College community. WSO was founded in 1995 and continues to play an important role in the campus community today. WSO is always looking for new members, regardless of computing expertise or experience.
The Law Society brings together Williams students who have a common interest in law along with alumni, faculty, and professionals in fields relating to law through programs and activities dealing with or related to the field of law. It also promotes understanding of the legal profession, the rule of law, and the legal process while also identifying and discussing the bias and contemporary problems in our legal and justice system.
WCC is a community where people can climb together and help each other improve. We welcome both experienced climbers and new climbers who are interested in trying climbing! In normal years, we hold practices at the Nate Lowe Climbing Wall, organize weekly trips to climb at the Edge in Albany, and attend 1-2 (optional) competitions per semester.
Our world is plagued with moral calamities: poverty, disease, violence, and more. Many of us want to help end these calamities but aren't always sure how. Effective Altruism is a philanthropic movement which seeks to use evidence and reason to find the best ways to solve these tragedies. Fundamentally, EA wants to answer the question: “How can we do the most good?” EA Williams seeks to educate Williams students about EA issues and organizations, as well as high-impact career paths.
Her Campus Williams College is a part of the larger organization, Her Campus; an online magazine whose target audience is the female collegiate population. Her Campus Williams is a digital outlet that provides writers with a platform to explore subject matter related to health, beauty, advice, campus events, and the latest campus news through written articles posted on the hercampus.com/Williams webpage.
Get Baked is a baking club on campus. We are composed of a heterogenous group of students who share a common interest of baking, cooking, eating, or all of the above :) we have monthly events on a select Friday usually in Mission kitchen from 4-10 pm. Anyone and everyone is welcome to drop in and bake with us during that window, or you can stop by at 10pm just to eat all the yummy goods
The Zen Practice Group is a student-run organization that hosts meditations and other activities centered around contemplative practice. Despite the group's name, the ZPG does not focus solely on the Zen tradition; our members are engaged with a variety of meditative practices. Please join us if you have any interest in meditation. Women in Political Science at Williams College aspires to improve the experience of women and non-binary identifying political science students at the College, to provide a space to talk about issues pertaining to politics and political science, and to create a community that supports women and non-binary identifying political science majors do ordain and establish this constitution and subscribe to the regulations and policies of Williams College.
No Lost Generation is the Williams chapter of a national student group tasked by the U.S. Department of State with supporting refugees. NLG-Williams has expanded our focus to advocating for immigrants more broadly, particularly in the Berkshire region. We have hosted educational events on campus, assisted the Berkshire Immigrant Center in raising awareness, and fundraised for various organizations. We collaborate with the Center for Learning in Action and other student groups.
Williams Catholic is a student organization servicing the needs of the Roman Catholic community at Williams. Together with the Chaplains’ Office, we aim to create and foster an environment where all Catholics are able to thrive in their faith, regardless of where they are in their spiritual journey. Williams Environmental Council (WEC) is a club dedicated to making the Williams campus more sustainable and educating the student body about environmental issues. Our main event is Earth Week, a week of environmental-themed programming around Earth Day. We also collaborate with environmental groups off-campus. Some of our focuses have been working with Dining Services to serve more sustainable meals, expanding campus composting, and educating students about the college's carbon offset purchases.
The Haystack is the premier satirical newspaper/media conglomerate at Williams college, coupling top-of-the-line reporting with a behemoth digital presence. All talents/experience levels are welcome. EphVotes brings together students who are concerned with declining voter and civic participation on campus, and works toward increasing voter registration and turnout on the Williams campus. By engaging with students, faculty, staff, and administrators, we hope to engage Ephs on the importance of voting to our democracy as well as making it easy to register to vote and apply for absentee ballots.
Alhambra Consulting Group is Williams' student-run, pro-bono consulting organization. We primarily work with businesses, nonprofits, and educational institutions based in the Berkshires, though we are excited to introduce new clients this year that span greater geography and scale. Account work may include developing business plans, conducting market diligence, analyzing data, and growing vertical expertise through field work. Students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Are you interested in applying to optometry or dental school? We serve as an outlet for any students that are interested by providing those students a way to reach out to other pre-dental and pre-optometry students, where they can ask for guidance or advice when it comes to preparing for their schooling after Williams. We attend virtual optometry and dental school visits, aid with pre-health/research summer program apps, and forward pre-health resources.
NovelTeas meets every two weeks to drink tea, eat snacks, and discuss different works of fiction recommended by the members. We read about three books per semester, so the time commitment isn't huge. Join if you love to read or just want to hang out with some cool literary people!
WARP is William's Tabletop gaming club. We meet every week to play various board games in an environment of fun camaraderie. We also occasionally organize Tabletop RPGs, such as D&D, and host other events from time to time. Show up when you want; we hope to see you at some point!!
Entrepreneurship at Williams aims to introduce students to the world of start-ups, and to grow the interest of experienced students. As the college does not offer classes dedicated to entrepreneurship, the club allows students to pursue their interests in an organized setting, and promotes a self-starter mindset applicable to any field. Events we run are guest speakers, club lunches, education workshops, and field trips to start-ups in the Berkshires and cities like Boston and New York.
WRAPS is an organization that repackages dining hall surplus into individual meals that we deliver to our community partners in North Adams. We are devoted to supporting our community and advancing our campus's environmental sustainability.
Circle of Women is a student-run nonprofit that works to increase girls' access to secondary school education worldwide. We partner with international nonprofits to design projects and hold a variety of fundraising and awareness campaigns.
RASAN is a network of Williams students that strive to provide support for fellow students regarding instances of sexual assault and abuse. After completing peer-support training, members attend meetings where issues surrounding campus sexual assault are discussed as well as campus events are planned.
Mental Health Committee (MHC) aims to promote the psychological wellbeing of the campus community by creating spaces for conversations around mental health. In working toward this goal, we organize events that encourage students to engage in self care activities and share openly about their experiences with mental health. We further advocate for campus policies that address the mental health of students and serve as a liaison between the student community and Integrative Wellbeing Services.
We provide opportunities for Williams students to explore creative problem solving by means of design thinking. The method is inherently open-minded and sources solutions from all circumstances and focuses around the user experience.

ABS is a student group meant to support the LGBTQ identifying students on campus who consider themselves athletes. ABS means to provide a safe and confidential space while also nurturing a casual, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere. The group functions to serve those who attend meetings, be it as a support group, a social sphere, a place to escape and hang out, or to engage in pointed and relevant discussion.
All Campus Entertainment (ACE) is a student-run organization that provides programming and entertainment for the student body of Williams College. We work to bring concerts, fairs, dances, movie nights, free food and a variety of other sources of entertainment to student life in the Purple Valley. ACE also functions as an informational resource for other student groups seeking to organize events.

Peer Health is a student-led organization dedicated to promoting the everyday health of Williams College students by providing both education and resources. We work with the Health Center and other departments, and various clubs on campus to coordinate fun events and offer services that support the needs of all students. We also serve as peer listeners through our Call In/Walk In program and provide sexual and general health supplies to the student body.
The Williams Telos is a Christian student publication of academic essays, personal essays, reviews, short fiction, poetry, and visual art. Telos is named after the Greek word τέλοϛ, which means "purpose, goal, or fulfillment” and represents a direction that can only be found through God. Through our annual publication and campus outreach, we are excited to share about the different ways that Jesus can speak into all aspects of our lives at Williams.
Williams Writers Overground (WWO) aims to serve creative writers in the Williams community. In the coming semester, we hope to hold outdoor meetings at which we'll write and share work with one another. We may also hold virtual meetings where we'll share work and/or talk about strategies for drafting and revising creative works.
The Williams Sustainable Growers (aka the Garden Club) aims to educate the Williams community about the value of sustainable agriculture in theory and practice by growing food in organic campus gardens. We will strive to promote sustainability by increasing the percentage of our food that is local and seasonal at Williams and by helping people understand that their dietary choices can be vital to combating environmental problems such as climate change, pollution, and top soil erosion.

Insight is a student-run investment publication and financial think-tank at Williams. Our investment theses are made compelling by the synthesis of our technical expertise and liberal-arts style of analysis. Our overall objective of the group is to provide a supportive learning environment for students interested in financial markets to share ideas, grow their knowledge, and possibly prepare for real-life industry experience through networking events with alumni. The Williams Film Club is all about watching and making movies. We arrange film screenings — this year, with remote and socially distant options. We support student filmmakers by providing resources, facilitating collaboration and discussion, and organizing student productions. And finally, we offer practical workshops and invite speakers to share their experiences in the industry. Ephs at the Clark is a club that helps to promote and interact with the resources, staff, and collections of the Clark Art Institute. We aim to create a stronger bond between the Clark and the students of Williams College while helping members of the club to gain a more intimate knowledge of museum operations. We put on events such as gallery openings, scavenger hunts at the museum, career day with staff members at the Clark, and trivia. We hope you join us!
Mock Trial is a team that competes against other colleges in the Northeast in a criminal or civil court case simulation. Each year, college Mock Trial teams across the country are assigned an interesting fictional case that they must learn to argue on both sides. Club members will be assigned to the role of a lawyer or witness on either or both sides of the case. This is a great and fun opportunity for anyone interested in practicing law in the future (though plenty of our members plan on other post-grad pursuits), or anyone who wants to improve their public speaking skills. No experience is necessary, we will teach you everything you need to know!
P3 (Positive Pathways Partnership) brings Williams students into the Berkshire County House of Corrections (BCHoC) once a week to tutor inmates in subjects ranging from basic math and reading skills to high school level chemistry and essay writing. Last year, tutoring was virtual and we are still working on the tutoring format for the school year moving forward.
We provide students who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or students who are interested in learning more about the church, with access to resources they need to attend virtual or in person meetings (adhering to social distancing guidelines), receive gospel-related curriculum (seminary, institute, etc.), and share messages promote an environment of spiritual growth and fulfillment.
Williams Empower Through Health seeks to pioneer the fight against the global mental health crisis by becoming the first team to provide psychiatric care to Busoga, Uganda. We partner with our Ugandan team to create systemic change for those suffering from mental disorders; we will also organize educational events to inform the public of global health inequity. Ultimately, we work to not only dispel misconceptions surrounding mental illness, but to solidify mental healthcare as a human right.
Sexual Joy and Wellbeing offers a space at Williams to talk about sex, sexuality, sensuality, bodies, feelings, and so much more! We work to make talking about sex and sex-related topics feel casual and non-judgmental (as it should be!) and offer a safe place to learn and teach each other new things. SJW absolutely always makes space for all students, including BIPOC, queer, trans/GNC, disabled, asexual, and kinky folx.
We are a space for religious discussion and support of those questioning their beliefs. We aim to use secular thought as a way of finding common ground between religions and deriving meaning from religious texts.
Off the Hook is a new crochet club at Williams where the goal is to destress and learn a fun new skill. We will meet every week and teach crochet basics as well as work on projects together. Absolutely no experience required, beginners welcome! All supplies will be provided.
The WFC supplements student learning with technical development and experiential learning, which allows students to explore a career in finance in a safe, risk-free atmosphere. We foster an inclusive and diverse community that provides students with the opportunity to develop and practice important skills through workshops, alumni/upperclassmen mentorship, and investing in our student-led virtual fund. Additionally, we host information events with firms recruiting students for internships.
WFC aims to explore the interdisciplinary nature of fintech and related fields including finance, technology, economics, mathematics, psychology etc. WFC’s main activities will include researching into the latest trends and developments in the field of fintech (including but not limited to cryptocurrency, insurtech, robo-advising, blockchain technology). We aim to write research papers, articles, and blogs on these topics and discuss potential ideas about new advances in these fields.
The Williams College PC Gaming Club is a community of students interested in discussing, playing, and watching PC video games. Some games our community plays include League of Legends, Valorant, Apex Legends, and Minecraft, among many others. We have weekly meetings that will provide a time for games to be played and a space for beginners to learn from others. In addition, the club hosts periodic tournaments and viewing parties throughout the year.
DataLab aims to introduce data science to Williams students and make it accessible for everyone on campus. It will be a space for members to collaborate on data science projects and help local and national organizations with data science needs. We hope DataLab will allow students to access data science resources online that may otherwise be out of reach, be it for financial reasons or anything else.
A student run initiative and organization that provides support for businesses, organizations, nonprofits, and other communities undergoing hardship (including healthcare providers, first responders, nursing care teams, essential workers, and others in need) in the Berkshire County area as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Relay for Life is a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society. The Relay for Life club will plan small fundraising events throughout the year and organize a large fundraiser in the spring! All of the money raised at these events will be donated to fund cancer research. Each event is tailored to meet its community, so this club offers the opportunity to be creative and engaged within Williamstown!
The Williams Undergraduate Research Journal (WURJ) is a composite journal that publishes undergraduate research semesterly in the sciences, mathematics, and humanities. The club consists of an editorial and executive board--both student run. In addition, WURJ offers a space for researching Ephs to collaborate, share projects, and eat snacks in monthly meetings/conferences. Joining WURJ is a great way to meet fellow researchers, travel to research conferences, and gain journal editing experience.
The Williams Translation Project (WTP) is a group of 70+ Williams community members who volunteer their time translating legal documents for local immigrant centers in 9 different languages. In doing so, we help countless immigrants afford to become Americans. If you are fluent in a second language and have two hours of every month free, consider joining our email list! The Needle is a satire magazine that is the only comedic space on campus specifically for non-male identifying students. We are an online publication and we write satirical articles, quizzes, and headlines relating to current events, life at Williams, and life in general! We're open to writers of any background, but we strive to create a space for students who's gender identity, racial identity, sexual orientation etc., are underrepresented in other comedic spaces on campus.
GCB is Williams' 100% student-run coffee collective. We specialize in bagels, cream cheese, and espresso drinks. We operate out of Goodrich Hall most mornings of the week. See you there soon!
Williams DREAM provides a place for the disabled Williams community to engage with disability culture, is a tool for self-advocacy, both on campus and in larger communities, and creates accessible spaces for students. Disabled students and nondisabled allies are both welcome!

Students for Israeli-Palestinian Dialogue (SIPD) aims to bring students together -- no matter their background, ideological leanings, or perspectives -- and provide opportunities to share and learn more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and occupation. We do so by inviting speakers from the region and around the world to share their stories, and we host a variety of workshops focused on education as well as dialogue facilitation skills.
MASC is a sexual violence prevention oriented club that facilitates workshops and campus conversations focused on Masculinity, Accountability, Sexual Violence, and Consent.
The Williams Consulting Club constitutes a community in which students of all backgrounds can explore their interests in consulting in a low-pressure setting and learn whether it is the right career path for them.The club itself endows students with resources to prepare for a career in consulting, the recruiting process, particularly for case interviews, and the world of business and entrepreneurship as a whole.
Our club will meet a few times a week to practice at the Simon Squash Center, and throughout the year, we will compete with other colleges in the New England. To join this club, no previous experience in playing Squash is necessary!
The Williams branch of Model UN offers UN Conference simulations for students to role-play as ambassadors and debate internationally-relevant political topics such as gender equality, climate action, global health, and more. Members of WMUN will discuss these themes as a group, then compete in northeastern collegiate conferences year round.
Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is a student organization which aims to provide students, faculty, and those interested with the proper resources to educate themselves about the history, culture, and current politics in Palestine. It is established by Palestinian ephs and other students aiming to spread awareness on the struggle of Palestinians in Israel, the West Bank, Gaza, and the diaspora as they fight for justice & equality. A secondary (but related) goal is to facilitate improved student/staff relationships. We regularly hold different events to appreciate and get to know staff members: dining hall staff, custodians, facilities workers, etc.
