Looking for a more systemized approach to help you build your course online? Need some guidance for what to include and where to put it? Maybe you are considering building an online back-up to your face-to-face course - just in case. OTTL has customized a D2L template that will make the course development process much easier for you. We have created a process along with modifiable boilerplate information, module outlines and a getting started checklist to guide you through the components of creating your virtual or digital course. This template will support fully online, hybrid or face-to-face courses.

11:00-11:45: Video Recording Retention: Best Practices and Recommendations - Kristine Pruett
So you are using video conferencing tools like Zoom and Virtual Classroom, but when should you record and how long do you need to keep that video? Who can you share it with? Do you need students' permissions to record or share it? This session will cover best practices and address legal questions around the use of video recordings of classes. We'll provide recommendations for longer term video storage, when it is warranted as well as strategies for managing your videos. This will not cover any technical information about how to use these video conferencing platforms.

10:00-10:45: Students as Creators: Engage Them with Video Assignments - Kathy Lewis (BR105)
Want to rev up student engagement in your online or Face-to-Face course? Panopto and Bongo are integrated into LIVE and allow instructors to create video assignments for students. Students can record their own audio, video and screens to create dynamic projects for assignments or even for a discussion forum. We’ll show you how to set up Panopto’s Student Assignment folder as well as Bongo’s Video assignments. These tools will engage your students in active learning, allow them to collaborate with each other and personalize their own learning. These are not only great tools for online instructors but also for Face-to-Face instructors to use for individual/ group projects.
