This painting, which hangs in the village hall in Woodbury Salterton. It was painted and donated by the late Don Wilson to commemorate the visit of 16 link members to The Gambia in January 1993
About the link
FOR over 25 years the village of Woodbury Salterton has had special links with Dumbutu - a village in West Africa. Local residents efforts over the years have raised tens of thousands of pounds, benefiting the people of Dumbutu in the Gambia. The several thousand miles between the two villages continues to be bridged by the links and friendships formed.
25th Anniversary
In June 2015 a garden party and a Pimm’s cream tea was held at ‘Rossli’, the home of one of our committee members, to celebrate the 25th year since the formation of the ‘Link’. The photo shows the committee and other members. It was also a very successful fund raising event.
