Service Learning Trip

Youth Empowerment Project

February Break 2020 (Friday Feb 14 through Friday Feb 21)

Cost $2045 + airfare    (Airfare is estimated to be $700)

Description

Partner with Fundación el Futuro es de Todos, an organization dedicated to providing access to sustainable income to youth with Down Syndrome through vocational skills development. Work alongside this organization to support build a vocational skills training farm donated by the National Institute of Agrarian Development. After participating in service, explore the lush ecological diversity of Costa Rica with a hike through Juan Castro Blanco National Park and a heart-racing zipline adventure through the rainforest canopy.

DEPARTURE

 Feb. 14th: Flight AA 2252  departs  JFK at 4:15 pm and arrives in SJO  at  8:54 pm 

Bag and Passport Drop off  in Room 231 prior to 1st period (after 7:15am)

Wear your T-shirt and Bracelet to school on 2/14!

Carry on bags are included, there is a $30 fee each way for checked bags

Meet in 231 after 5th period to pick up your bags and walk down to the main lobby together.

Bus will depart after 5th period  (11:20am) on Friday 2/14   

** NO VEHICLES MAY BE LEFT ON SCHOOL GROUNDS**

ARRIVAL

 Feb. 21: Flight AA 579 leaves SJO at 11:45pm and arrives at 6:01am on Feb. 22nd. 

We will return to Westhampton Beach HS at approximately 9am.  Students will call home when we are on the bus.
