Each proposed intervention is written on a post-it note
Participants are each given a pack of 10 stickers of a particular colour (red = editors; blue = SR practitioners, quality assurers)
Participants add a sticker to each intervention which they think should go in a short-term action plan
The votes for each item are counted; the top six editors' choices are shortlisted for the action-plan
The group splits into two to discuss the results and attempt to come to consensus on items for the action plan (editors' decision is final!)
Start by discussing each point - who is in favour, who is against? Why?
Is there consensus between the editors, and the SR practitioners / quality assurers on the best interventions for an action-plan? If not, why not?
Is six the right number of actions? Should there be more? Less?
The editors in the two groups present their conclusions about action-plan items back to plenary
The group reconvenes in full plenary to discuss the items thought by some to be important but not common to both groups' conclusions, to divide the list into a final set of action-plan items, strategy items, and to discuss each in more detail for the final workshop findings.
Key action-plan question: what can be done in the next 12 months?
