Below you will find a range of activities for your child to choose from while at home. Your child may do as little or as much as they like. The Literacy, Maths, Karakia and Art activities have been designed to be completed without access to the internet and using just paper and a pencil/pen. If you have access to a printer, they can be printed and worked through with the children. If this is not the case, please open and take a photo of each of the sheets. At this age, the children will require adult input to complete the activities. Although, after an initial explanation, children should be able to complete each task/step within the activity independently. Most of these activities are knowledge-based and your child may have some understanding already so it is a great way for them to maintain their knowledge while away from in-class learning.

Note for whānau: For non-confident writers, variations on these activities could include: taking photos of the objects, drawing pictures of them and labelling, dictating sentences to an adult/older sibling, typing or dictating recount, drawing a cartoon of recount. However, it is important that some form of/or attempt at writing is encouraged and praised.

ORCA Values
You will need:
1 piece of blank paper
1 pencil
1 set of colouring pencils/markers
This week at school we have been doing some work with our ORCA values. Can you practice the te reo for our ORCA values?
Ownership - Rangatiratanga
Respect - Manaakitanga
Collaborate - Whanaungatanga
Achieve - Ako
On a blank piece of paper draw your own your own, very cool, ORCA. Maybe you could decorate it in WGP school colours? Or try some cool koru pattern designs inside?
On the page around the ORCA write the te reo for each of our values (Rangatiratanga, Manaakitanga, Whanaungatanga, Ako)
How can you show these values at home or school? List as many examples under each one you can think of.
