Total Number of Spots Available: First come, first served. Up to $30,000 total will be awarded in grants thanks to the DESE Recruitment and Retention Grant. Each grant request should be for $500 or less (not including the stipend).

Description: As part of WGSD's "Self-Care" initiative we are encouraging teachers to explore wellness opportunities in our region. Through the DESE Recruitment and Retention Grant, we are able to offer WGSD Summer Wellness Grants for teachers in a certified role (counselors, specialists, etc. are included).

Grant Criteria:
Any applications for retreats that include alcohol will be denied.
Each grant request should be for $500 or less (not including the stipend)
In addition to the registration cost for the event, a PD stipend of $15 per hour will be paid to the participant for up to 12 hours total.
Attend the event you requested. (Please check your calendars prior to making a request. Once registered, it will be difficult to cancel the registration.)
Complete an exit survey about your experience.
Make Note: It is important to know that some of these requests could be subject to federal tax withholdings since it is considered a taxable benefit. (For example, a $500 gym membership could be considered an additional income of $500 and could be taxable.)
After April 21st, we will reach out to individuals who submitted a grant proposal and confirm the acceptance of the proposal. In this confirmation communication, we will work with our Finance Department to communicate whether your proposal would be a taxable benefit or not. At that point, you can back out of the experience if you would like, prior to us completing the actual registration. Please submit your grant applications by April 21st using the link below. Those grant applications that are accepted will be notified on April 28th.
