The School of Law IT Department can assist student organizations with various communication and data storage needs. Utilizing these services provided by the IT Department can assist with a smooth transition at the end of each academic year, and allow for student organizations to retain data.
Some of these services include but are not limited to:
Posting digital signage throughout Worrell.
A Google Shared Drive for the organization to store important documents (budget, constitution, bylaws, etc.).
The opportunity to create a general email account for your organization (ie. [Your Organization Name]@wfu.edu)
It is important to request A/V support for presentations, guest speakers, or special events as early as possible. When scheduling the event, please determine if you will need any A/V support or special equipment. We require a two-week minimum for AV event support.
The Law School Help Desk also has equipment that you can checkout to use at events. Students can check out the equipment listed below by visiting the Law IT Help Desk (Law Library, 2nd Floor).
Note: All checkout equipment is available on a first come, first served basis
Laptops (Windows & Mac)
Power Adapters
Conference Cameras
Conference Phones
Headphones
CD/DVD Players
Different types of equipment have different checkout durations. At the time of checkout you will be informed of the checkout duration and expected return date for the items being checked out.
Individuals who borrow equipment are responsible for it during the loan period, and all borrowed equipment must be returned at the agreed time and in good working order. The Law School Help Desk must be informed of any equipment malfunctions as soon as they occur. The Help Desk reserves the right to charge an individual for lost, stolen or broken equipment.
Recording Technology: All lecture style classrooms have classroom recording hardware installed. The recording platform captures video from a single forward facing camera in the rear of the room, a wireless microphone (worn by the speaker), and a screen capture of the content on the classroom computer. Recordings are typically available 60 minutes after the completion of the recorded class or event.
Expectation of Privacy: Students should not have an expectation of privacy in classrooms, courtrooms, the auditorium or any other public space at Wake Forest Law. All classrooms, courtrooms, the auditorium, and other public spaces at Wake Forest Law may be video recorded at any time when classes or events are or may have been scheduled to occur. Accordingly, private conversations may be inadvertently recorded (and accessed) pursuant to this Policy, even when such conversations occur in an empty classroom or space.
All student organization leaders are able to print using their organization’s printing budget. To print a document using your organization’s budget, send the document to a student printer as normal. A message should then appear asking if you are printing a personal document or if you are printing on behalf of the organization. Select printing on behalf of the organization and print the document(s).
Student Organizations can request a locker on the 2nd floor for storage through the Link. Student Organizations may also use the storage room in 3217. The code to enter the storage room can be retrieved from Student Affairs staff. There is cardstock in the storage room and a vacuum attached to the wall that are available for student organizations to use. If you place supplies in the storage room, please label your supplies with your organization name.
Food should not be stored in lockers or the storage room.
