Elementary school students in the William Floyd School District use the myView Literacy program, which serves as the foundation for elementary literacy instruction. The myView Literacy program is comprehensive and interactive, providing a balanced approach to teaching reading, writing, speaking and listening, using a collection of authentic reading texts and collaborative writing workshops. Connected reading and writing workshops focus on teaching the critical skills and strategies students need to be highly competent thinkers, readers and writers.

Writing Non-Negotiables
Students at each grade level complete multiple writing units. As they move through the grades, they learn about non-negotiables. These are skills that all students are expected to do before they submit their work as complete.
