All elementary students are supported by a well-rounded support team. Each building has a team made up of deans, psychologists, school counselors and social workers.
Deans:
Students at each building have access to deans, a faculty member who serves as a mentor to students and seeks ways to build positive connections between students, schools and families.
Psychologists:
School psychologists provide social-emotional support to students and families. They also provide guidance to families interested in seeking referrals to Special Education or 504 support.
School Counselors:
In addition to providing direct support to individual and small groups of students, school counselors push into classrooms and deliver lessons to entire classes. These lessons support student development of study skills, transitions skills, and strengthen social-emotional learning skills.
School counselors also assist in scheduling, submitting report cards, and communicating information to families.
Social Workers:
Social workers provide direct support to students and families in need. In addition to their work in their buildings, social workers can connect families to outside resources. Families seeking information about assistance programs should reach out directly to their building's social worker.
