Wilmore Free Methodist Youth

A Place to Belong:

We all need a place to belong-a place where we know people care about us and where we care about others.

In WFMC Youth Ministries, our desire is to create a space where youth of all stripes are welcome.

We come together in a community of faith in order to love God, find our identity in Christ, and love others.

We understand that every teen that walks through our doors is in a different place in their  faith.

Our goal is to walk along side them, pray for and with them, and pour out the hope of Jesus so they are equipped to do the same in their community.

Come and join us. Find a place you can belong, and discover Jesus and His purpose for your life.

 About Me:

My name is Caitlin Gothay. I have been the Minister of Youth at Wilmore Free Methodist Church since July of 2021. I grew up in southern New Jersey. After high school I attended Asbury University and graduated in 2015 with a Youth Ministry degree. While at AU, I met my now husband Christian and we married in 2016. After AU I attended Asbury Seminary and received a Masters of Arts in Christian Ministry in 2017. I worked at the Kentucky United Methodist Children's Home from 2017-2018 and then Christian and I moved to South Carolina where we worked together at Thornwell Home for Children until 2021. While in South Carolina we welcomed our son Maxwell into the family in 2019 and adopted our daughters Van and Ashanti in 2020. Maxwell is a typical 5 year old boy who love playing outside and being with people. Van graduated from West High School and will be attending Asbury University as an international communications major and is an assistant manager at a Burger King in Lexington. Ashanti is working full time and living on her own. Conrad was born to us on March 23, 2023 and has already had many adventures with the youth! Christian works as a corrections officer in Lexington.  I was ordained an elder in the Free Methodist Church in May, 2024. I have loved working with the youth at Wilmore Free Methodist Church and cannot imagine doing anything else! A treat that will always cheer me up is a oatmeal raisin cookie from Panera (or really anything from Panera). As a NJ native I am very much looking forward to the Wawa being built in Nicholasville!
