Deerfield Outdoor Classroom

The Deerfield Outdoor Classroom is a learning and creativity space that brings our school community outside. Our hope is that the Outdoor Classroom will:

• • • • Provide our school community with an accessible, usable outdoor environment in which members may learn, teach, play, create, or relax.

      • Give students a greater awareness and respect for their environment, both locally and globally.

      • Provide students with exposure to the complete food cycle, including planting, growing, harvesting, eating produce, and composting of food waste.

      • Provide an outdoor learning lab for students to experience hands-on STEAM learning through building, tinkering, and experimentation.

      • Improve the well-being of every member of our school community by increasing the amount of time spent outside and unplugged.
