Greenbush Elementary School is one of three neighborhood elementary schools in West Warwick, serving approximately 400 students in kindergarten through grade 4. In partnership with families and the community, Greenbush is committed to educating the whole child through a comprehensive, differentiated learning experience that supports academic, social, and emotional growth.

Our staff implements high-quality instructional curricula, including Core Knowledge Language Arts (CKLA) for literacy, Illustrative Mathematics, and OpenSciEd for science. All students participate in a Walk to Intervention (WIN) block, which provides targeted instruction in reading and mathematics based on individual learning needs. These efforts reflect our commitment to high expectations, meaningful learning, and opportunities for every student to grow.

Strong relationships are the thread that connects our school community. Our active Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) strengthens family engagement by hosting free events, including Fall Fest, family dances, and game nights. The PTA also supports the Scholastic Book Fair, sponsors cultural and educational assemblies, and provides financial support for every student’s annual field trips.

Community partnerships further enrich students’ experiences through the Foster Grandparents program, West Warwick Police Department mentoring, and the YMCA after-school program. Partnerships with Rhode Island College and the University of Rhode Island bring practicum students and student teachers into our classrooms, supporting the preparation of future educators.

Together, our staff, families, and community partners work to create a welcoming school where students feel a sense of belonging, develop confidence, and build the skills needed to become lifelong learners and contributing members of their communities.
