Dear Staples High School Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–27 Staples High School Program of Studies! Here you’ll find key information regarding graduation requirements, academic policies, and other considerations that shape your experience in the classroom. The course descriptions that follow highlight opportunities across core subjects as well as the arts, technology, media, culinary arts, and independent learning, all designed to support a high school experience that is engaging, meaningful, and appropriately challenging.

At Staples, we are proud to offer a wide range of courses that meet the diverse needs, abilities, interests, and goals of our students. As you plan your courses, remember the importance of balance between academic rigor and personal well-being. Consider the time and commitment each course requires, and how your schedule supports your life outside the classroom, values, and long-term aspirations. We want you to challenge yourself academically while also enjoying a well-rounded high school experience. 

This process is a collaboration among students, teachers, school counselors, and families. Teachers will recommend appropriate courses based on their understanding of you as a student and the curriculum. Your school counselor will help you bring those recommendations together and guide you in making informed decisions in the context of your overall development and future goals. Family members know you best and can offer valuable perspective as you consider your options. Ultimately, however, it is your responsibility as a student to take ownership of your education.

Whether you are an 8th grader eagerly anticipating the start of high school or an upperclassman aligning your course choices with goals for after graduation, you will find that Staples offers countless opportunities to grow, explore your interests, and prepare for the future. We recognize the real pressures of attending a high school like Staples and the importance of success after graduation. Take advantage of all that Staples offers, but also pursue what excites you and remain open to new experiences.
