Disc Golf Tutorials

This space will be dedicated to helping you get better at Disc Golf! Some links to additional tutorials can also be found under the Disc Golf Links tab.

The Drive

Everyone wants to throw far, right? These videos will help you improve your distance while also gaining accuracy.  Watching video tutorials and then video recording your own throws will help you understand the disc golf drive faster than just throwing.

There is a ton of content and more added everyday on YouTube. Below are links to a few of my favorite videos.

"Don't Move the Disc", Reach Back Drill

THIS REALLY WORKS! This drill is about moving the body forward while the disc stays in one place. I have tried it and it really helps one understand the reachback, coiling the torso, looking back at the disc allowing your body to twist a little more, and pulling the disc forward when the front foot touches the ground. I can throw about as far doing this drill as I can if I throw as hard as I can. Make sure to pull the discs forward "flat", like you were sliding your hand and disc across a table.

This content maker is currently my favorite. He breaks down the disc golf throw into its most basic elements and tries to keep it simple while also acknowledging the body's tendency to complete the form and movement naturally.  This tutorial about the "brace", or the plant foot is very simple and makes sense. Combine this with a smooth reach out and you are ready to start throwing with power and accuracy.

This tutorial is long and "dry" but really had a big impact on my form development, increasing distance and improving accuracy.

A good intro to the forehand throw.

Putting

"Drive for show, putt for dough", right? A great putt can save a so-so drive, and when your putter is "on", there is an incredible confidence boost.  As far as I can tell, everyone develops their own unique putting style, even among professionals. There are similarities and commonalities but basically each golfer needs to figure out how to get the disc in the chains with consistency. These tutorials will help you get started on finding your own form and style.

"Upshots": too long for a putt, but too far for a driver.

A specific drill to improve your upshots

I'm really enjoying the content from Robbie C. This is a part of my game that needs more attention.
