Whenever I make art I like to add an abstract feel to it. Whether I’m making a completely abstract piece or a more realistic painting I like to add components that express emotion or utilize abnormal materials. To me art is interesting because it is so personal to the artist and evokes different feelings in each viewer. I want to communicate different feelings of emotion in my artwork through the colors I use, different media and the subject of the piece itself. I find inspiration from photographs from my travels, fashion magazines or structures in my everyday life. I enjoy making art because it lets me be creative and I don’t let others dictate what I make. I like that it is so personal to me and I can really do whatever I want depending on how I feel. I hope whoever looks at my art can interpret it in their own way and come up with their own story behind it. Usually, I like to paint using acrylics or use ink and watercolor to make abstract pieces. I’ll use typical paintbrushes or I use sponges and other tools to get a desired effect. I try to vary my brushstrokes to add more depth to the paintings. In the future I would like to work on painting more realistically and practicing more technical skills to improve my art.
