Per the Western Armored Combat Manual and Marshals Handbook, to be authorized to participate in heavy, rapier, and missile activities one must:
demonstrate familiarity with the Kingdom and Society Rules of the List, Armor and Weapons standards, and Conventions of Combat;
demonstrate the ability to function in a manner that is safe to both them and their opponents; AND
have a waiver on file with the Kingdom.

New combatant authorizations are good for two years.
Renewal combatant authorizations are good for four years as of 1/1/26.
