Coffey Park has been home for over three years, why change?
This conversation started because of mud. The grass at Coffey Park is often muddy year round. It's slippery and squelchy. If we aren't in our preferred spot, it is also very uneven. After a discussion of Marshals it was determined it's time to move.
Other considerations:
Walking through planters and around the fences is not friendly in an accessible way.
People talk about changing locations every two years to generation interest.
View of the Primary Practice spot from the fighting green towards the shade
Good drainage in grass
Great parking
Proximity to the 101 exit
15 + minutes closer to frequently visiting Shires and other Scadians
Stone Privies
Shade trees
Okay playground
Enough extra space in the park to move around
Stunning view of the Sonoma Mountains

Site Cost for Stafnbui:
The biggest downside is a Site Reservation fee of $168 for events like Stafnbui. We wouldn't charge at Gate, we would use the Shire Coffers or pass the hat.
Before talk of changing Site began, there was the thought to dial back Stafnbui to 3 times a year instead of 4. This was to lessen the burden on the Shire with the idea of hosting Day at the Coliseum again next Summer.
If after 2 years we decide this $504 a year for Bui's is too great a burden, we can always look for another Site.
Other downsides:
Farther from many members
No benches for gear (the ground being dry helps that not be a problem)
Directions from the 101 Freeway:
