Welcome to Fourth Grade!

Dear Fourth Graders and Families, 

I want to welcome you to fourth grade!  I am looking forward to being your teacher this year. This year will be my second year teaching at West Bath and my thirteenth year teaching elementary school. I am a graduate of Colby College and received my master’s degree in education from Stanford University.  I live in Brunswick with my husband Eric and our two children Grace and Stella. We have a huge, floppy goldendoodle named Ollie. I love reading, the ocean, and spending time in nature.

I believe that learning should be active, collaborative, and individualized. One special thing about being in my class is that we have a “genius hour” each week where we solve engineering challenges by designing, creating, and problem solving. I want my students to feel excited to come to school each day and be proud of their learning. The two most important rules in my classroom are to work hard and be kind.
