Assignment #004 Career Plan
You have chosen the career best for you and you have the argument to back that decision up. Now what? How will you make it happen?
Explain to the reader the steps you plan to take to get a job in your chosen field. This section should be between one half to two pages long, and may use first person personal pronouns (I, me, my) as you are discussing your plan, training, and how you will specifically achieve your goals.
This section should include:
- Transition from your argument to your plan of action
- "Now that I know I want to be a ... there are several things I need to accomplish to achieve it."
- Along with course work, what else are you doing in high school to make this career a reality?
- College campus visits, program orientations, job shadowing, college/technical program applications, creating a resume, obtaining letters of recommendation etc.
- What education/ training do you need for this career, and where are you going to get it?
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, name of the program, length of program, required internship or residency, journeyman program, apprenticeship, on the job training, boot camp
- Cost
- How much does the college degree, training program, startup equipment, certification cost?
- How will you pay for life (tuition, food, housing, materials, etc) while attending college or a training program?
- Job, financial aid, grants, scholarship, work study opportunities,
- State licensure requirements, if any
