I expect you, as my student, to be self-disciplined, respectful, and put in sincere effort in learning. We use only ENGLISH to communicate in the classroom. Please follow these simple rules:
- arrive on time and be prepared for the class (notebooks, pencils/pens, pre-charged laptops; mobiles on silent kept inside your bags);
- submit your homework assignments within the due date/time;
- take active participation in class activities and discussions;
- be respectful/polite to your teacher and peers, and show good manners/positive attitude in class;
- keep your desk and the space around clean;
- do not bring food and drinks (other than water) to the classroom;
- raise your hand to speak, and listen to others without interrupting them;
- mute and keep away mobile phones/other gadgets that are not required in class; do not use earphones/headphones unless they are required for a specific assignment;
- use your laptop ONLY for learning and completing class assignments. Watching videos, listening to music, chatting, leisure web browsing, playing games, etc, is strictly NOT allowed;
- follow instructions promptly;
- resist distraction and stay on task; do not bring any toys/ accessories/ gadgets/ etc. that are not required for any class activity, and may distract you and others.
In case you fail to follow these rules after my repeated warnings, I may have to send a complain to the Middle School Principal and/or your parent.
Please make sure you have the following supplies:
- One folder of any kind (lightweight and most convenient for you to carry along) to keep print-outs and graded assessment papers, e.g. quizzes.
- A laptop with a PDF reader installed and updated. As we are going to use the textbooks in a digital format, you will likely need to have a charged and working electronic device every class;
- One notebook thick enough to last through the year or at least a semester;
- A4 plain AND lined paper (can keep in your folder and use as needed);
- Pencils/pens/highlighter/correction pen/anything you need to take notes manually.
