Confidence building – students will learn to work together in an open and collaborative environment; we will play theater games and create small scenes in order to feel comfortable within the classroom
Methodology – students will learn about the different methods actors utilize within the rehearsal process
Character Work – using their given scenes, students will learn how actors must study their script and create a character
Final Scene Presentations – in partners, students will memorize, block and perform their scenes for their classmates
Process Drama - students will utilize the skills they learned to work through a process drama, wherein they develop the culture of two fictional islands over time and work together to solve conflicts between the islands.

Auditioning - students will learn about common audition practices and practice choosing audition pieces (monologues)
Studying the monologue – as a class, we will look at written monologues and monologue performances so that students understand what goes into creating and performing a monologue. Students will then choose their own monologue to work on.
