6th Grade Curriculum

Introduction to Drama

• Confidence building – students will learn to work together in an open and collaborative environment; we will play theater games and create small scenes in order to feel comfortable within the classroom

• Dramatic Structure – students will learn about the basic dramatic structure of a story or play

• Basic Tools for the Actor – students will learn to use an actor’s primary tools: voice, body and emotional accessibility

• Theater Terminology

• Putting it all together – in groups, students will create a short play utilizing the skills they have crafted over the semester
