Description of Workshop:

"Hearing is the primary channel for learning. The more children hear, the better they learn." ~Mark Ross, PhD (University of Connecticut)

This course is designed to provide an overview of the variables that create complex listening environments in our schools and the significant impact of noise on learning. Hearing and listening can be further compromised when there are vulnerabilities in the areas of:

  • Peripheral and central hearing processes
  • Focus and Attention
  • Learning Disabilities
  • And for those students who are English Language Learners

Participants will walk away with practical tips and tools for enhancing hearing, listening, communication and accessibility for all learners in any classroom.
