First of all, welcome to Wellesley! We're so happy to have you here.
Here are some pieces of information and advice we have for you as you navigate getting accommodations.
Ask about accommodations early! Register with Accessibility and Disability Resources (ADR) as early as possible; ADR asks that all entering and transfer students submit requests for accomodations within two weeks of recieving the Entering Student Checklist. See the ADR section for how to request accommodations and deadlines.
Don't be afraid to email the Community Director (CD) of your dorm, your professors, or Wellesley's dining service, Wellesley Fresh, to ask questions about your accommodations. See the respective sections for email addresses.
Accommodations for orientation are an option! Get in touch with Dean of First Year Students Shanté Brown (sbrown14@wellesley.edu) about any concerns or modifications that would make the experience better for you.
Consult with ADR to check which residence halls are accessible for you. If you need ground floor housing, be sure to directly say so to ADR. See Housing for more.
Know where your classes are and be sure to find the accessible entrances to all the buildings well ahead of time. See Campus Accessibility for more.
You can also request to start registration ahead of registration day if you have concerns about navigation and the timing of classes. See Academics for more tips.
If you can, establish contact with and send your records to a doctor in the area who knows of your condition. This could include a doctor at Wellesley's Health Services. See here for information on registering at Health Services for entering students and the Health section for more.
The Stone Center, Wellesley's mental health center, usually cannot accommodate requests for long-term therapy. They can help you find a therapist nearby that works for you. There is a psychiatrist on staff. See Health for more.
Be sure to reach out to SAW if you need anything! We're all here for you.
Have fun with your first semester!
