(Please check with your instructor for clarification on which parts of this workshop are optional or mandatory for your lab.)

The workshop has three parts:
Significant figures: Read through the first table ("Significant Figures") of Summary of Significant Figures and Uncertainty. Then do the worksheet "Significant Figures Practice," which you should have printed and brought with you. Answer key found in attachments of Appendix.
Statistical Uncertainty: Click here for the Workshop 2 worksheet (titled "UNCERTAINTY" below) to practice determining uncertainty and significant figures for replicated measurements.
Plotting in Excel: Click here for the Workshop 2 Excel template that you will use to practice using Excel for plotting, calculating, and displaying significant figures. Tabs in the lower left of the screen can be used to select a worksheet. You do not need to turn anything in. However, be sure to check your answers so that you can use these skills correctly in your Results calculations.
