You will have tasks to complete in class to build your skills with the adobe software. You will also need to be self directed in learning these skills.
The best way is through experimenting and trying things. Find tutorials online to help.
Adobe Bridge: File Browser. We use this to import your photos onto your computer, view and file images. Also allows for editing with Camera Raw and does not over-right your original photo (non destructive).
Lightroom Classic: Non destructive (this means you can always get back to the original, it doesn't over right the photo) editing software.
Can adjust multiple images all at once. Can sort and organise images. Uses a copy of your image so doesn't take up storage space on your computer. Professional software with more control than using Bridge - Camera Raw. Create contact sheets.
InDesign: Use to build the folio layout using your jpeg photographs. Doesn't generate a large file.
Photoshop: Creates adjustments with layers over the original image. Can generate large file sizes. Adjust an image one at a time. Use for Photomontage and more technical creating of imagery. Can add text and other imagery with the original photo. Has AI capabilities.
NOTE: THIS SOFTWARE IS LARGE AND TAKES UP ALOT OF SPACE ON YOUR COMPUTER.

Contact sheets show all the images taken during a photoshoot.
They are evidence of your work and are a quick glimpse into all your photos in one place vs multiple individual files that would need to be opened to be looked at.
You will submit each contact shoot you do for your theme into the assignment on google classroom.
Each shoot will have your contact sheet shown on your website.

Editing software allows you to adjust and alter your original photograph that you took. This can be basic or complex.
For editing of your images you can choose to work with Bridge-Camera Raw or Lightroom. It is your choice. If software is confusing for you, then just keep with Bridge-Camera Raw. However it may not have some features that Lightroom has.
Note: to view your adjusted images in your InDesign files you will need to do the following:
Camera Raw > convert and save
Lightroom > export
You will use the new files to add to your InDesign file you use for your layouts. Editing adjustments are not viewable in InDesign unless you have done this.
