This is my pinterest board of photographic elements and conventions, i have made it so these images relate to techniques i could use for my theme this year. There are four different sections, Viewpoint, Shutter, Lighting and DOF
For this task i went around outside my house and at boarding and took photos using different conventions of photography. I photographed using my phone camera and the lightroom app to show different conventions such as: Texture, colour, lines, angles, lighting and many more.
I walked around the school and used my phone to photograph interesting patterns and shapes of similar colours. I really liked looking at the different lines and patterns of shadows, i thought they created nice lines in a more interesting way which is something i would like to look into further when photographing my theme. I converted a second one into black and white using lightroom classic.
For this task i photographed a mug, i explored it from multiple different angles to try explore all areas of this object. I then used InDesign to creates. collage of my images.
For this task i explored different viewpoints of things around the school using the lightroom app. I selected my favourites that i thought were most interesting to add below.
DSLR Camera Exercises
For this task i use a dslr camera to focus on different depth of fields of the 5 penguins lined up. I used the manual focus on the camera and selected to focus on the front object, background and middle object.
I also lined up three different objects slightly off sided from each other and different distances and used the manual focus on the camera to focus on each object and blur out the others.
I then went outside and photographed a line of poles with two different depth of fields with the camera. I explored photographing cones and trees but the poles worked out the best.
I then took a photo inspired by Mark Adams, a New Zealand photographer (his example shown above). I created three boxes on InDesign and put the same photo in each, i then zoomed up on each different depth of field within the photo and lined it up to look like they all flow together.
For this task. used the lightroom app and set my shutter to a high speed and photographed. The photo of the girl jumping i has used burst mode on my phone camera which still seemed to work quite well as i was able to select out of a range of photos and i found it easier to capture the high-speed movement. The one with the water coming out of the glass took me a while as i was taking individual photos on the lightroom app and i couldn't seem to get my timing right, but i eventually got it.
For this task i took photos of Charlotte as she moved her arm up and down, i then used then used photoshop and layer mask to joint all the photos together to create an interesting photograph.
For this task i used my phone camera and got someone to run and jump while i did a burst. I then chose the best photos and used the InDesign format to put all my images together.
Artist model example
My example
For this task i got Alex to spin around in a circle while i took a burst photos on my phone, this created some cool blurred images showing different types of shutter.
We went into the dark room and moved our phone lights around. I photographed using a slow shutter on the lightroom app to be able to capture the movement of the light.
