We will be using a "classroom economy" in our classroom this year. Students will earn Puppy Bucks as rewards and may have to "pay" Puppy Bucks if they make wrong choices. Every other week, a classroom store will be open for them to "buy" fun things with their Puppy Bucks such as candy, trinkets, and fun classroom coupons.
Each day, students will earn one Puppy Buck for good behavior. There will also be numerous times throughout the day for them to earn more Puppy Bucks for positive behavior such as being on task, working quietly, asking great questions, trying hard, being a good friend, completing homework, helping in the classroom, and following the rules.
If a students makes a not-so-good choice, they may have to "pay" a Puppy Buck. If a student is asked to pay 3 or more Puppy Bucks in a day, he/she will have to write a note home during recess to let you know why certain choices were made and to let you know how he/she will do better. If a student loses more than 3 Puppy Bucks in a day, he/she will have to visit Mr. Smith, and I will contact you, either by phone or email.
Along with Puppy Bucks for individual behavior, our whole class will also be rewarded for demonstrating RESPECT, positive behavior, and being "caught being good". Some rewards that the class can earn are Friday Fun Days, extra recess time, movie days, class treats, electronics parties, game days and more!
