As a final project, students will be creating their own personal shield. In the epic, Achille's shield was a big part of who he was as a warrior. 

Students will have the creative freedom to take what they have learned about The Iliad, legacy, and being a "warrior", and share who they are in their shield. Students will also create an artist statement, explaining how the epic inspired their choices. Additionally, students will present their projects during a gallery walk in class.
