Course Outline

Ms.Holzman's Classroom Expectations 

1. Respect others, yourself, and all school property. This includes:  

~Listening to others ideas/opinions. Give full attention to whoever is speaking 

~Using appropriate language. No swear words or verbally abusive language 

~Keeping your hands and feet to yourself at all times 

~Not damaging or defacing personal or school property 

2..Be in your assigned seat AND complete the "DoNow" activity when the bell rings. 

“Do Now” sheets will be collected at the end of each week for a grade. 

3 tardy’s=contact home; 4th tardy=referral written. 

3. Be Responsible by bringing all materials, staying on task, asking questions when needed, and work hard every day.   

4. Keep voices at a reasonable level during group work 

5. No food or drink in class (except water)

6. Keep all personal electronics put away 

Participation/Behavior Grade

On the first day of each quarter, every student will automatically be awarded a grade of 100. This will be your participation and behavior (P&B) grade. 

How it works: 

Interrupting another student’s ability to learn is not acceptable. If a student chooses to break a rule, the following will occur:

FIRST TIME: Warning

SECOND TIME: 1 point deducted from P&B grade

THIRD TIME: 2 points deducted from P&B grade, and after class conference with me

SEVERE DISRUPTIONS: Parents called (along with lunch detention or written referral)

*At the end of the quarter, I will add up any deducted points and the P&B grade is averaged into your final quarter grade.
