Course Registration 2024-2025
Registration for 2024-2025
Registration for the next school year will begin on February 28, 2024. Counselors will meet with every student to help them register for the correct core curriculum. Counselors will attend English classrooms and conduct small groups during PACK Time for those not in English this semester. Students will enter their course selections in Powerschool while meeting with Counselors.
The first week of registration will begin with rising Seniors, the second week rising Juniors, and the third week will be rising Sophomores. If students are not able to register with their group, we will conduct make up sessions at the end of the Registration period.
If you are a current 8th grader in a WCPSS school, you will need to contact your middle school for registration information. If you are going to be a new student at Wakefield High School next year, once you complete the preregistration or enrollment packet, you will receive a course selection sheet.

About Advanced Placement (Collegeboard)
Advanced Placement Testing
Students will take the AP test in the Spring of the year they are taking the class. AP testing is the first two weeks of May each year. The calendar is set by Collegeboard, therefore we cannot adjust the testing schedule. The State of NC pays for the exams through a partnership with NC Advanced Placement Partnership. Because the test is free we encourage all students to take the exam. If a student signs up to take an AP exam, but does not take it, the student may incur a fee.
