Assistance League of the Triangle Scholarship

Hugh Morson Memorial Scholarship
Who is eligible for the scholarship?
A: Applicants must:
· Be high school seniors or college students.
· Be residents of the city of Raleigh, North Carolina.
· Demonstrate financial need.
· Demonstrate academic achievement.
· Plan to attend full-time at an accredited public or private, four-year college or university located in the United States.
· A minimum cumulative GPA 2.5 on a weighted GPA scale.

William Gaston Allen Scholarship
Applicants must:
Be high student seniors.
Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Be from Wake, Wayne or Brunswick County, North Carolina.
Demonstrate financial need.
Have been enrolled in the local high school full time during his or her junior and senior year.
Have demonstrated sincere interest in, and commitment to, pursue higher education.
Demonstrated interest in enhancing personal potential.
Demonstrate traits of high personal character and leadership.
Be planning to attend full-time an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, technical, trade or professional school.

Raleigh Engineer's Club Scholarship
A complete application consists of:
- The REC Scholarship Questionnaire (EMAIL MRS. OBERTO FOR THIS!)
- A pdf scan of your NCSU - College of Engineering Acceptance Letter
- A pdf scan of your most current high school transcript
- A Letter of Recommendation from a faculty member familiar with you*
Send the Questionnaire (Word or PDF) and one scan (PDF) of the Acceptance Letter and Transcript, together, all in ONE EMAIL, to the following address: GeorgeSharpeJr@gmail.com .
*The Letter of Recommendation should be sent as an attachment and emailed separately by the faculty member to the same email address used for the application.
Both emails must be sent and a complete application must arrive no later than 5:00 pm on Friday, April 18, 2025 -- NO EXCEPTIONS! No confirmation of delivery will be sent; however, you are welcome to follow up by email to ensure all information arrived and your application is complete, well before the deadline. This scholarship totals over $4,000!
Alliance of Black School Educators Scholarship
All applicants must submit the following required documents:
the completion of this form and parent signature
an acceptance letter from a college or university
a letter of recommendation from a teacher, a counselor, or a community member (which includes an objective perspective about the qualities of the applicant from a person who is not a friend or family member)
one-page (typed and double-spaced) essay that includes the following topics: Your Leadership Qualities/Experiences, Community Service Experiences, and Why You Should Receive the Scholarship. Consider writing this essay in a narrative format. Scan and send your essay, this application, one recommendation letter, and a copy of your college acceptance letter to the email address below before the deadline of 12pm on March 24, 2025.
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Raleigh Alumnae Chapter
Last year, scholarships were awarded to three outstanding young women from Wake County Schools, and the organization is eager to continue this tradition. The organization would like to invite graduating senior young ladies from Wake County Schools to apply again this year.
We are offering three scholarships:
1st Place: $1,500
2nd Place: $1,000
3rd Place: $500
This program is not a typical scholarship. While academic excellence and extracurricular involvement are important, they are also looking for applicants who demonstrate creativity and are civically and socially engaged.

Knightdale-Wake Forest Alumnae Scholarships
KWF President's Scholarship
A one-time monetary award for one African American female high school senior, who will enter a college/university in fall 2025. Recipient must attend high school within the KWF service area
KWF President’s Scholarship applicants must be a current, African American Female high school senior enrolled in public, private or charter school in the KWF service area (Schools in the KWF service area are: East Wake, East Wake Academy, Franklin Academy, Heritage, Knightdale, Millbrook, Neuse Christian Academy, North Raleigh Christian Academy, North Wake Career and College Prep Academy, Ravenscroft, Rolesville, Thales Academy, Wakefield, and Wake Forest.)
Minimum GPA: 3.2 (unweighted)
KWF Five Points Scholarship
A one-time monetary award for five African American (male or female) high school seniors or college students who demonstrate exemplary work or distinguished evidence in one of the five programmatic thrust areas:
Economic Development
Educational Development
International Awareness & Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness & Involvement
KWF Five Points Scholarship applicants must be African American (female or male) high school senior enrolled in a public, private, or charter school in Wake County or undergraduate college student pursuing a degree at a 2 or 4-Year College or University, or a Community College within the Triangle.
Minimum GPA: 2.75 (unweighted)
Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club Scholarship
Applicants must be an eligible Graduating High School Senior/GED recipient during the fall 2024/Summer 2025 school year who will be post-secondary or vocational/trade school in 2025 with a minimum GPA of 2.0
Official High School Transcript (or equivalent, if home schooled)

Letter of recommendation on official letterhead from a teacher/guidance counselor/school administrator
Letter of recommendation on letterhead from a community service organization
A copy of a letter of acceptance to an institution of higher learning

Prepare a letter of introduction; who you are, your accomplishments, to include honors and awards to date, family background, and the degree to which you are seeking, and financial need. Provide a brief summary of how you plan to use the scholarship, if selected.
Recent professional headshot photo (in good taste)
Provide Student's name, the complete name and address of the school and/or financial aid office where the student will be attending school and student ID number. Checks will be mailed by the National Treasurer to the school via the student's account
Complete all forms in its entirety. Attach additional pages, if required. incomplete packages will automatically be eliminated.
Sigma Scholars Foundation, Inc.
The Sigma Scholars Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 organization that was established to provide scholarships to deserving Wake County High School Seniors that have been accepted and who have committed to attending a Two-Year Associate’s Degree Program or Four-Year Bachelor’s Degree Program following graduation. These scholarships are designed to provide funding assistance for educational expenses.
The Foundation’s Board of Directors is seeking applications from students from your High School that meets or exceeds the following criteria:
A student in good standing with the high school;
A US citizen (subject to verification);
Parent(s)/Legal Guardian(s) and/or Student must be a Wake county residents and student is enrolled full-time in a Wake County Public High School; and,
Be a high school senior enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited postsecondary institution*
(*Approved institutions are defined as those accredited, postsecondary two or four-year colleges or universities in the United States. Proof of enrollment is a condition of eligibility for a scholarship award and will be required before funds will be disbursed.)
Interested students must complete the scholarship application along with providing the following:
A 400-word maximum typed essay (see essay topics on the application);
Two (2) letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher, counselor, or other school official);
Official transcript of grades (3.0 GPA or higher required);
Community Service (minimum of 30 hours)—packet must include a signed letter from an organization or church affiliation on official letterhead; and,
Current photo (headshot) of applicant.
Self-Help Credit Union Scholarship
Purpose
To provide financial assistance to those who have committed to improving their lives and their community by furthering their education.
Eligibility
Those who plan to attend or are attending any post-secondary educational institution will be eligible. Eligible institutions include universities, colleges, technical schools, trade, and vocational institutions.
Self-Help employees and board members and their family members are not eligible to apply. A “family member” is a person's spouse, parents, siblings, children, and life partner; the parents, siblings and children of a person’s spouse or life partner; and anyone living within the person's household as a family member.
Application Process
All applicants will complete and submit a scholarship application online by March 31, 2025 for an opportunity to be awarded $1,000
Pearls in Partnership Foundation, Inc. Scholarship
Pearls in Partnership Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with the Omega Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, annually awards The Pearls In Partnership Scholarship to assist promising Black/African American high school graduates to continue their education at institutions of higher learning (colleges, universities, or technical schools). As such, in 2024 we awarded 3 educational scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to high school students who attended public, private or home schools in North Raleigh and Franklin County, NC.
The scholarships were awarded to students who demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills, community service and need.

O'Berry Scholarship
The O'Berry Center Foundation offers a $1,000 scholarship opportunity to four students entering college or already in college who have the intent to work in careers that help the developmentally disabled.

USDA 1890 National Scholars Program
To be eligible for the USDA/1890 National Scholars Program scholarship, a student must:
Be a U.S. citizen
Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)
Have a minimum of 21 ACT, 1080 SAT scores
Have been accepted for admission or currently attending one of the nineteen 1890 Land-Grant Universities.
Study agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or other related academic disciplines
Demonstrate leadership and community service
Submit an official transcript, from each high school and college attended, with the school seal and an authorized official's signature
Submit a 250-500 word essay for each of the following questions:
How will the USDA 1890 National Scholarship support your career aspirations? If there is a particular mission area within USDA that also supports your career aspirations, please indicate that mission area.
What factors have influenced your decision to pursue academic studies in agriculture, food, natural resource sciences, or a supporting discipline (such as economics, computer science, accounting, etc.)?

Men's College Scholarship
The scholarship is designed to identify and reward outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in the fields of academics, extra-curricular school activities and community involvement. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating high school senior who is enrolling in a four-year undergraduate college program that commences in the fall. The scholarship is awarded through the Foundation for Fraternal Excellence, a registered 501(c)3 organization. Current or future membership in a fraternity is not required.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be a graduating high school senior in the United States
Must identify as male
Must have access to a U.S. bank account (for direct fund deposit if selected)

PowerUp! Scholarship
Essay Topic: SOLV Energy believes that renewable energy plays a vital role in creating a brighter future, and that every person can make a difference in their quest for a more sustainable planet.
Write a 500-1,000-word essay explaining how you plan to use your education to help achieve this goal. Include your experience with a high school or community outreach project that shows how you are working toward this goal. Include illustrations or pictures as needed.
Eligibility: Currently enrolled high school seniors with a minimum combined 3.0 GPA, who are accepted to, and have committed to attend a trade school, community college or 4-year university in the fall of 2025. In order to receive scholarship funds, you must provide us with an official letter of enrollment from your school.

Workforce Development Regional Scholarship
The NC Home Builders Association Educational & Charitable Foundation is thrilled to once again offer at least eight $1,000 Workforce Development Regional Scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in the residential construction industry! One scholarship will be awarded per NCHBA region to students enrolling in a community college or trade school to earn a degree, diploma, or certificate in fields such as construction management, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, or HVAC.

North Carolina Prestigious Scholarships
As a school, we are able to nominate a few students each year to several prestigious scholarship programs including the Morehead-Cain (UNC), Levine Scholars (UNCC) and Cheatham-White Scholars (NCCU). In order to select our nominees, we ask that if you are interested, to please complete the google form below to assist our selection committee.
More information can be found on the form above. If your student is not selected as our nominee, they can still self-nominate to be considered by the university scholarship committee. We will notify seniors when the selections have been made in August.
The scholarships below are often 4-year, full-tuition scholarships with added benefits such as study abroad, research funding, etc. Some schools ask that we nominate students each year who would be quality candidates for the scholarship requirements. An application can be filled out the summer before Senior Year to apply for the allotted nominations from Wakefield HS. If your student is not selected, the scholarships with an (*) next to them allow for students to self-nominate as well! Please use the links below to learn more about each scholarship.
